For the past 44 years, I have enjoyed the opportunity to create in the medium of glass. My career in art started in photography and painting, then branched into the craft world. Since then, I’ve enjoyed explorations not imagined in my youthful dreams.
Learning the traditional craft of stained glass fabrication led to etching, and creating ways to merge my photographic background with the process of hand-cut glass etching. With the help of a partner, this morphed into the realm of photographic sandblasting, which allows great detail and crisp lines to be achieved in etched glassworks.
In the last 17 years I’ve ventured into the world of warm glass – working with kilns to slump, and fuse glass – a new world of fluid glass transformation. Now I am able to once again be a painter, and create with glass itself.
Along with residential and commercial commissions, I have been fortunate to have done work for many major corporations. In 2004 I etched an 11’x 8’ glass map of the world for MSNBC at Rockefeller Center. I have also created the President’s Awards for Eaton Corporation, and Applied Industrial Technologies.
